House System
Each boy at Shrewsbury House is part of one of the four Houses: Drake, Nelson, Grenville, and Raleigh. These Houses foster a strong sense of community and belonging, with pupils and staff members working together on various House events. Senior boys take on leadership roles within their Houses, organising and guiding activities that promote teamwork, responsibility and school spirit. This collaborative environment encourages pupils to develop leadership skills while contributing to a vibrant, supportive community.
House Pride
Boys are immensely proud of their House and have various opportunities throughout the year to represent their Houses in competitions, including quizzes, music, writing, swimming, football, rugby, cricket, table tennis, poetry and athletics. The House system ensures that boys recognise the importance of being a part of something much bigger; it acts as an immersive experience where they can collaborate, compete and proudly represent their peers.
House Competitions
The House Plus and Minus Competition is keenly contested throughout the year, with all boys gaining rewards which contribute to their overall House score, and the coveted House Trophy. Boys take part in a variety of competitions, from football, swimming, singing and poetry!
